Lavender Honey Yogurt with Fresh Berries and Toasted Almonds
Yogurt is sweetened with lavender infused honey and vanilla, and paired with fruit and nuts for a delicious healthy breakfast!
This here is a good example of a marriage of flavors and perfect balance. The lavender is so fragrant and aromatic along with the vanilla, the yogurt is tangy, the toasted almonds are crunchy and a little smoky, and the berries are both sweet and tart. YUM! You will notice this recipe calls for plain yogurt.
I always buy plain yogurt so I can sweeten it to my liking, and also have it available to be used for savory dishes. You could start with a sweetened flavored yogurt if you like, but I just don’t find that they taste very good.

Option 3: If you have a blender or Ninja or Bullet. I use a teaspoon of dry lavender i in the Bullet using the finer blade and pulverize it. I incorporate in the yogurt and place in an air tight container. Put in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours or overnight. Then ready to serve drizzle some honey over top of yogurt and dress it with fresh fruit and nuts.
thanks for the quick reply.. I live in Sri lanka and I am still to find lavander in shop here. I am trying to find away of getting it from over seas… yes your reply did make sence… I will try this and let you know how it goes.. thanks alot hugsxxx
Wow, Sri Lanka! So exotic! Are there any French stores in the area? I have seen lavender at french stores too…but don’t know if you have any around. I wonder if you can find some online anywhere?
Hi, I have always liked making desserts and this seems so easy and really interesting. I would like to try this out but the only problem is that I dont think we have lavander freely available here. So you have said to use tea balls does that mean lavander tea bags? and i doubt there wold be lavander honey too so can i use normal honey? sorru if my questions sound stupid.
Hi Shafriza! No it’s not a stupid question! Dried lavender is actually fairly easy to find (fresh lavender is very difficult, it seems), and I just used the dried. I found mine at Williams Sonoma in the spices section, but I’ve also seen dried lavender at Whole Foods. You could substitute normal honey, but as you said, it is a very easy and simple dessert, so I feel like if you omitted the lavender part of it, it wouldn’t be AS good (though it would still be tasty). The tea balls I was referring to was to the tea cages, where you are able to infuse liquid with loose tea and easily take the cage (and all the loose tea leaves) out, because you don’t want to be eating dried lavender, you just want the flavor infused into the honey. Another way you could do it is put the dried lavender into the honey, simmer for a bit to infuse the flavor, then strain the liquid through a fine meshed sieve or cheesecloth. Basically you just don’t want any of that dried lavender in your yogurt. Does that make sense?
Oh YUM!
