Homemade apple cobbler with a sweet apple filling and fluffy biscuit topping
Ingredients
Apple Filling

sliced apples

lemon juice

Cobbler Topping

all-purpose flour

granulated sugar

baking powder

melted butter
unsalted

milk

tsp
vanilla extract

salt
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 375°F
Preparing the apple filling
Peel and slice apples
Combine sliced apples, lemon juice, brown sugar, corn starch, cinnamon, & nutmeg. Mix until evenly coated
Transfer apple mixture to 9x13 baking dish and spread evenly
Making the cobbler topping
Whisk together the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, & salt in a medium bowl
In a separate bowl mix the melted butter, milk, & vanilla extract
Pour the wet ingredients into the bowl of dry ingredients and mix until the batter is smooth. The consistency should resemble a thick pancake mix
Pour the cobbler topping over the apple mixture and spread evenly
Baking the cobbler
Place the baking dish in the oven and bake for 40 minutes or until the topping is golden brown and the apple filling is bubbling
Once baked remove from the oven and let cool for 15 minutes
Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream
Notes
Leftovers: Cover with foil and refrigerate up to 3 days
Reheating: Warm in a 375°F oven for 5-10 minutes
