This Turkish Tomato and Chile Relish has intense tomato flavor thanks to fresh tomatoes and tomato paste, and accented with heat from the chiles. Serve with chips!
Ingredients
1lbreally good tomatoes
2tbsptomato paste
1tbspextra virgin olive oil
4green chilesseeded and minced
1/3cupminced red onion
salt and pepper
chopped fresh basil or parsleyif desired
Instructions
Start by finely chopping up the tomatoes, and season them with salt and pepper.
Place the tomatoes in a fine mesh sieve over a bowl for 30 minutes so the excess liquid can drain.
Once the tomatoes have drained, mix them with the tomato paste, extra virgin olive oil, minced green chiles, minced red onion, and fresh herbs (if using). Taste and adjust seasoning as necessary. Serve with chips or spread it on your hamburger buns the next time you’re making burgers. Enjoy!
