Nothing beats freshly made lemonade, and it's simple to make yourself. Muddled mint is added for an extra refreshing summer drink.
Ingredients
1/4cupfreshly squeezed lemon juice
1/2cupcold filtered water
4tbspsimple syrup*
ice
2tbsppacked mint leaves + more for garnish
Instructions
Place the mint in the bottom of a glass or pitcher. Use a muddler or stiff kitchen tool to crush up the mint leaves and release their flavor.
Add the lemon juice, water, and syrup.
Let it steep for 15 minutes, then taste to make sure it has enough minty flavor for your tastes. If it does, remove the mint, then add additional fresh mint leaves for garnish. If you want more mint flavor, add another set of muddled mint.
Serve over ice and enjoy!
Notes
*Simple syrup is just equal parts sugar and water. Microwave it and stir until the sugar dissolves, then chill in the refrigerator.
