Bananas and figs are flambeed with a butter rum sauce, for a quick and easy dessert! Serve with ice cream for the perfect finish.
Ingredients
2ripe bananas
8-10dried figs
2tbspdark rumuse 100+ proof if you want it to light
2tbspbutter
1/4cuplight brown sugar
1/4tspground cinnamon
Ice cream to top it off
Instructions
Melt the butter in a skillet over medium heat, and add the brown sugar and cinnamon.
While the sugar dissolves, slice up the bananas vertically so you can lay them in the pan and easily turn them. Cut the stems off the figs, and slice those in half as well.
Saute the bananas and figs in the sauce for 2-3 minutes on each side.
Remove the pan from the stove, and pour in the rum. Light with a match or the flames from your gas stove. Make sure you stand back from those flames…wouldn’t want to lose an eyebrow or two.
Once the flame dies out, serve in dishes and top with ice cream. Enjoy!
